Personal Statement

I am passionate user of all things digital and enjoy communicating with people in way which will resonate with them.

I enjoy learning about new systems and can understand and utilise new technology with ease. I administrator for Kingston's Council's staff intranet and the lead webmaster for the main Council website. 

I'm highly knowledgeable of multiple social platforms including Twitter, Hootsuite,, Facebook Business Manager/Adverts, Youtube, Instagram and Google Plus.

Kingston Council 

My current job role can be split into three main categories: web, social and press.

Duties include:


  • Lead for the council's customer facing website using Jadu Continuum CMS.
  • Training web authors to allow council departments to update the information on the website.
  • Management of accessibility and broken links using Site Improve.
  • Working with heads of service to lead on web based projects, including  redeveloping the planning application process for planning and a monthly self care calendar for the  public health.
  • Using the website to further support campaigns and assisting other communications colleagues to do so.
  • Excellent knowledge of Google Analytics - providing up to date statistics for the senior leadership team.
  • Main administrator for the staff intranet, including moderation of comments and publishing corporate news stories.

Press/internal comms

  • Writing proactive press release to promote council services and achievements, such as  the installation of high tech parking meters across the borough.
  • Working with colleagues across the council to draft reactive lines for both local and national press enquiries.
  • Managing journalists for the 2017 General Election. Organised attendance and supported them throughout the night.
  • Leading on the internal staff newsletter and publication of articles on the intranet.


  • Excellent knowlege of Twitter, Hootsuite, Tweetdeck, Facebook Business Manager and adverts, Youtube and Google Plus. 
  • Scheduling social media campaigns, both paid and unpaid on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
  • successfully used Facebook to promote council events, increasing sign ups and engagement.
  • Regularly engaging with residents on local issues, referring enquiries and complaints to the relevant service.

Freelance Writer, Social Media Researcher, Digital Campaign Delivery


I worked freelance as a researcher and digital media campaign delivery for Transmute, a business which specialises in helping large businesses and government improve their organisation by using digital and social media. As part of my work I contributed to Parliament’s first guidance on social media for MPs, researched the best digital media University Courses to inform a UK newspapers’ Talent Strategy and have undertaken environmental analysis for Financial Service and Aerospace brands. I contribute digital and social media copy to campaigns, digital media planning and have undertaken account management for specific digital projects.

Sales assistant 


My temporary Customer Service role at boots was a way to fund my living expenses and career ambitions. Although this is a temporary position, I expanded upon my customer service skills, which is vital when working with sensitive or personal information. I improved sales within the skincare and beauty sections, whilst maintaining high standards to Boots brand, No.7.

Freelance Transcriber


My freelance work for Ubiqus included transcribing audio from meetings/interviews/HR reviews. into grammatically correct written English. The audio was usually from high profile clients, ranging from banks to government departments. Confidentiality was therefore highly important, as is the ability to write accurately, professionally and to usually demanding deadlines.
