My passion for infant and toddlers is very strong and I have a tremendous amount of patience, care and love towards them. I am a person who strives to provide and give the best to each and every child. I love the young charges that were under me previously at the various childcare centres which I was attached to. I am a very systematic person and and does my work and tasks diligently.
March to April 2008
Went on a community service learning trip to Hanoi, Vietnam as volunteers with a group of year 1 and 2 students from Ngee Ann Polytechnic. My objective for this trip is to coach children in simple English and facilitate game activities for them. In this trip, I have seen the difference of their school setting from that of Singapore Childcare Centers. The things that are unique in the classroom are the learning materials, learning corners as well as a spiral staircase created inside the classroom.
2006 to present
Worked at Spastic Children's Association of Singapore Cerebral Palsy Center and M.I.N.D.S home as a volunteer. During my presence at these places, I had the opportunity to work with children with exceptional needs. I took care of the children, for example played with them, bathed, changed and fed them. It was an enriching and wonderful experience to be with these kids. They are very special in my heart.
I was appointed as a module representative in the class. My responsibilities were to mark the attendance of the class and to ensure that my classmates were able to obtain the required course materials during lesson time. It was fun as I had the opportunity to interact with lecturers, guest speakers and my peers.
Year 2005 - 2006
I was appointed as a class treasurer for a period of two years. My duties were to collect student funds, photocopied course notes and purchased items related to the course modules. I would say that this job was challenging as I had to balance the accounting book as well as other responsibilities at hand.
Jan 2007 - May 2008
Part-time Pediatric Clinic Assistant
Pediatric Clinic, Bishan
I hoped to gain a better understanding of each child's illnesses and their behavior when they were not feeling well. Different age group of children developed different symptoms when they were ill. Knowing that they were feeling unwell, I would try to comfort them and provide appropriate toys to ease their discomfort while waiting for their turn to consult with the practitioner.
Jan 2005 - Apr 2007
Field Attachment Assistant Teachers
Kidz Light Learning Place, KinderCorner and MYMCA Childcare Center
I had challenging and exciting part-time field attachments at different childcare centers during the Ngee Ann term time practicum. My duties at these centers were to do observations for the different age group of children, make formal and informal assessments and make plans of action to improve individual child's holistic development, plan interesting curriculum lesson plans and ensure smooth transition in the children's daily routine.
It was tedious and difficult to survive when I was in my first year of Diploma. After gradual and further attachments at more childcare centers, I began to get used to the routine and became a better assistant teacher.
From these attachments, I had developed a range of talents for young children ranging from two to six years old through play, dance, singing, games and art activities.

Civil Service College
My job in this college was to organize corporate events such as dinner functions, retreats, social gathering functions, seminars and other related activities pertaining to the college. It was interesting as it broadened my scope of a corporate service officer.

I performed patient's data entry when I was working at the Accident and Emergency Department, Singapore General Hospital. This job was similar to the Singapore Network Services. However, this time I had to work on patients instead. I have to generate the respective patient's data in the system instead of performing the manual filing method.
