INTRODUCTION

I employ a student-centered approach to learning by requiring students to be accountable for their learning via cooperative projects, choice boards, learning contracts and self-assessments.  This allows me take on the role of facilitator rather than the sole provider of information.  I feel creativity and variety are invaluable strategies to keep students engage and increase participation in classroom activities. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to teach Algebra 1, Biology, Earth Science, Forensic Science, Infectious Diseases, and Technology. I foster an exciting and engaging learning environment by utilizing hands-on activities and lab experiments with real life connections. I also integrate various forms of technology including smart boards and web 2.0 tools such as blogs, wikis, and Google docs.
