Summary

Reverend Sean Rousseau served for a decade and a half as a Roman Catholic Priest in the Catholic Diocese of Arlington in Virginia before joining the Episcopal Church in 2010 and being received as an Episcopal Priest in 2011. While he awaits a parish position from the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia, Reverend Rousseau is working as Interim Assistant Rector at Christ Episcopal Church in Winchester. Reverend Sean Rousseau experienced a traditional Roman Catholic education. He attended St. Michael Catholic School in Annandale, Virginia, and Bishop Ireton High School in nearby Alexandria. After graduation, he majored in philosophy at Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary, Overbrook in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, and spent two years as a teaching intern at Archbishop Ryan School for Deaf Children in nearby Philadelphia. Upon earning his Bachelor of Arts, Reverend Rousseau continued his studies at Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary, pursuing a Master of Divinity with a concentration in Systematic Theology. Reverend Sean Rousseau spent another year in a teaching internship at Kennedy-Kenrick Catholic High School in Norristown. Other internships followed, such as two consecutive summer ministries at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Key West, Florida; a jail ministry at Montgomery County Correctional Facility in Eagleville, Pennsylvania; and a chaplain ministry at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. One year before receiving his Master of Divinity, Reverend Sean Rousseau was ordained into the Deaconate by the Catholic Diocese of Arlington. He accepted a deacon summer parish ministry at Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and a deacon year parish ministry at Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church in Parkesburg, Pennsylvania. As soon as he fulfilled his yearlong training, the Catholic Diocese of Arlington ordained Reverend Rousseau as a Roman Catholic Priest in 1995. Reverend Sean Rousseau was assigned to six neighboring Virginia parishes. He served as an Associate Priest in Fairfax at Saint Leo the Great Catholic Church, in Leesburg at Saint John the Apostle Catholic Church, in Annandale at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, and in Alexandria at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. He held the role of Priest-in-Charge in Middleburg at Saint Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church, and Founding Priest-in-Charge in South Riding at Corpus Christi Catholic Mission. Besides tending to his flock, Reverend Rousseau was active in other organizations within the Catholic Diocese of Arlington. He served as an Adult Coordinator for the Work Camp Planning Team, Committee Member for the Diocesan Diaconal Formation Program, Project Manager for the Diocesan Capital Campaign, and Committee Member of the Diocesan Technology Committee.
