Technical lead for Platform Vision, a subsidiary of Advaiya. Platform Vision wasa content hub and online community focused on helping IT decision makers, CIOs, and IT pros look at their IT investment from a strategic perspective.

Represented Platform Vision to the technical community by

  • Blogging and tweeting on IT software topics, in particular infrastructure, virtualization, and cloud computing, from a enterprise architecture perspective
  • Evaluating IT technologies and products from a platform perspective to explain how a product purchasing decision will affect a customer's business goals and budgets
  • Speaking at industry events
  • Interviewing key industry players for their platform perspectives on important IT issues

 Within Platform Vision, responsibilities included

  • Completing the Platform Vision architectural model (right) and explaining its purpose
  • Leading a team of IT professionals and researchers developing content for the Platform Vision website.

Advaiya, the parent company of Platform Vision, discontinued investment in this startup business in August 2010 in favor of focusing on its core consulting business.

Author of many articles about Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server, Distributed File System, and Volume Activation for the largest independent Windows community on the web. These articles explain the technologies for IT professionals to use in their daily work.

Second only to Microsoft in its number of Windows users, the Windows IT Pro web site has 2.5 million unique visitors every month, and the print magazine has more than 100,000 subscribers.

Senior Design Engineer, IT Core Directory Services

Intel Corporation

A technical leader in the original design, deployment, and management of one the first large-scale Windows 2000 Active Directory (AD) deployments in the world. This practical enterprise AD experience, and the ability to communicate it to Microsoft program management, helped ensure Intel was a participant in Windows Technical Adoption Programs (TAPs) to work with Microsoft on the development and testing of subsequent Windows 2003, 2003 R2, and 2008 operating systems.

  • Senior Active Directory Design Engineer: Responsible for the strategic direction of the mission critical service that every Intel employee requires to do their job. Led the 9-person core directory services team in AD-related matters.
  • Active Directory Design Lead, Numonyx Flash Divestiture: Responsible for the critical design to migrate the users, groups, and computer accounts of a chip design engineering group, one wafer fab, and two assembly / test manufacturing (ATM) facilities – the first factory divestitures in Intel’s history – into the newly created Numonyx Corporation.
  • Intel's TAP program manager for Windows 2003 R2 and Windows 2008
  • An original architect of Intel's Active Directory, three months after the product was released
  • Led the Windows NT domain consolidation resulting from Intel's acquisition of Digital Semiconductor in Hudson, Massachussetts

Senior Systems Programmer

Texas Instruments

One of the two architects that designed and deployed TI’s 40,000 user, 17 country Windows NT 3.5 user authentication and resource authorization system, and the lead engineer for the NT Engineering team that supported it.

Responsibilities included

  • Engineering the Microsoft Windows NT operating system for use as the standard for TI's production servers
  • Production support of multiple Windows NT domains
  • Testing and preliminary analysis of Windows 2000
  • Supporting all aspects of the IBM VM operating system mainframe environment, including 3 factories
