Other work experience

I have worked in construction, customer service, account management, nursing management, call center, food service and retail management, but nothing is as satisfying as taking a piece of fabric and creating something from nothing.

Even though I sew for a living, I still find that most of my hobbies also revolve around sewing. I enjoy making quilts, quilted art pieces, clothing for myself and my family, pageant dresses for local girls/women, and other projects.

I am also an extreme miniaturist. I create scenes and things from the everyday world and beyond in miniature scale; most being one inch equals 20 or more feet.

My life revolves around my family and my creativity.

I am actively seeking a position in a stable company that allows me to put my skills to use and take care of my family properly. I am friendly, loyal, honest, cooperative, open minded, detail oriented and love a challenge. I am looking to find a company where I am valued for my skills and have the chance to prove myself and move forward. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

Work History

Work History
Aug 2008 - Present

Project Manager and Design Specialist

Canvas Plus

I have worked with the owners of Canvas Plus in Palatka Florida since August of 2008. I was hired because of my many years of upholstery work, great knowledge for sewing with home and industrial machines and my ability to create patterns for anything from nothing.

I have run the office, dealt heavily with customers, supervised projects, trained other workers, implemented many time and money saving ideas, and branched our company from strictly marine upholstery into automotive, aviation, patio, outdoor furniture, awnings, tents, hunting equipment, industrial equipment covers and many other areas. I have learned and taught many things while working with the owners of Canvas Plus, but I am ready to join a larger company and really put my skills to work and grow as a seamstress and designer.

Jobs Well Done

Custom Upholstery Patterning and Design

I have a knack for patterning and designing custom upholstery. I can work from a frame and add foam, design and pattern fabric covering, then stitch and assemble the finished project. In my current work, I do all of the patterning for the other employees to work from.

Industrial sewing machine operation

Proficient with small home machines, zig-zag sail machines, and many other types of industrial machines including, but not limited to Singer, Brother, Phaff, Juki, and Consew. I am comfortable at most any sewing machine and willing to learn the breakdown of any new machine for maintenance, cleaning and repairs.
