As Care Advocate for Optum Health Behavioral Solutions in Atlanta, Georgia, Seam Drakon conducts clinical reviews for patients of all ages. He also serves as Central Access Clinician for the DeKalb Community Service Board, where he conducts assessments for individuals seeking outpatient, mobile crisis, and crisis stabilization services. Through the DeKalb Community Service Board, Seam Drakon helps to provide behavioral health solutions for people in the Decatur area who have mental illnesses, addictive diseases, and developmental disabilities. Before accepting these positions, Mr. Drakon gained experience at several organizations in Georgia. First, he interned at Positive Impact, a company that provides services for individuals living with HIV, some of whom were also at risk for substance abuse. Mr. Drakon later interned at The Hospice Atlanta Center and The Anxiety and Stress Management Institute. The Hospice Atlanta Center generally provides palliative care for terminally ill patients. Some of the services provided by Seam Drakon at The Hospice Center Atlanta included assessment, brief therapy, and bereavement counseling for patients’ loved ones. At The Anxiety and Stress Management Institute, Mr. Drakon assessed and provided psychotherapy for the health of individuals and families who came to the center for behavioral treatment. Seam Drakon earned a Master of Arts in Psychology from Northcentral University in Arizona. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and a Master of Science in Counseling from Georgia State University. Outside of his professional responsibilities, Mr. Drakon serves his community as a supporter of AIDS Walk Atlanta.
