While furniture sales is Stephen's principle objective, Stephen specializes in interior decoration for a predominantly high end clientele. Stephen uses CAD software and hand-drawn renderings combined with extensive knowledge of furniture, space planning, color coordination, fabrics, window treatments, flooring, and paint on a daily basis to exceed his client's expectations. Stephen is currently spearheading a company campaign to use realtor referrals with extreme success. He is consistently among the top salespeople at Indian River Furniture. Since his arrival, the already successful store has increased its business by double-digit percentages.

Stephen is the current choir director, where he built the choir from 4 voices to 16 voices in just over a year. He is responsible for administrative work related to the choir and special music for the congregation. He solos regularly, acts as rehearsal accompanist frequently, and is the service pianist as needed. In March 2015, Stephen held a solo concert as a fundraiser which raised over $1000 and 20 large bags of food for the Brevard Sharing Center.

Stephen Downen attended Brevard Community College on a full Florida Bright Futures scholarship and a full B.C.C Music Scholarship.  He is a member of Phi Theta Kappa and was consistently on the Dean's list for academic excellence.  Throughout his college life, Stephen was been actively involved in the community, acquiring over 200 community service hours.  He did all of this while maintaining a 3.7 GPA.  He also graduated with more than double the necessary credit hours required.

Stephen Downen has been formally studying voice for 8 years, but has been singing his eniter life.  Currently, he is currently on full scholarship and takes applied lessons at Brevard Community College from Mark Baker, a former Metropolitan Opera star.  Stephen regularly sings throughout the community, and has been contracted numerous times.  His most recent employers include Faith Viera Lutheran Church, St. Mark's Episcopalian (Titusville, FL), and Merritt Island Presbyterian Church.  Stephen often sings at weddings and funerals, and has appeared in several states.  He currently sings with the B.C.C. Concert Choir, the B.C.C. Madrigals Ensemble, the M.I.P.C. Choir, and is a featured soloist in many other groups.  Groups Stephen has been in include the Brevard Chorale, the Disney Candlelight Processional Choir, and the Space Coast Oratorio Society.   Stephen has been honored many times for vocal excellence.  Recently, he was a soloist and choir member in the Florida Community College Activities Association elite choir.  In middleschool and high school, Stephen participated in the FMEA All-State chorus 6 times, even holding a spot in the elite Sight-Reading Choir.  Other awards in high school include numerous superior ratings at both state and district level festivals, numerous outstanding student awards from M.I.C.S., the Association for Christian Schools International Leadership in Fine Arts awards, and many others.  Stephen has been invited to sing in numerous international tours, and has been honored by various elite groups.  He has studied and worked with some of the best conductors and coaches in the business, including the following:  Grammy award-winning Dr. Charles Bruffy (Phoenix Chorale/ Kansas City Singers), Dr. Andre Thomas (FSU), Dr. John Sinclair (Rollins College), Mark Baker (B.C.C), Dr. David Brunner (UCF), Dr. Robert Lamb (B.C.C), Dr. Cara Tasher (UNF), and many others.  Stephen has performed with other mainstream artists also, including Sandi Patti and Michael W. Smith.

The photography of Stephen Downen has been featured in the private galleries of many residents of the greater Orlando area, as well as many art exhibitions.  It has also been featured in the Florida State Fair and at Betterphoto.com, where it has won numerous awards.  Stephen's photography focuses on the beauty of everything.  When looking at any of his pieces, whatever genre it may be, one notices the brilliance and essence of that which was photographed.  Stephen's primary focus is artistry in photography, but he enjoys every genre.   Mr. Downen's experience as a photographer is almost unsurpassed by locals of his vicinity.  He uses a Canon D60 SLR camera as his primary camera, but quite often uses his other cameras for specific needs.  All photography is digital and edited with either Adobe Photoshop CS4 or Adobe Photoshop 7 to ensure perfection.  Any of Stephen's pieces may be purchased in any size up to 22x46, and may be specially ordered in larger sizes for additional cost.   For appointments or inquires, please call (321)626-1968 or email at thatmusicguy777@yahoo.com.
