2004...   Conceived a startup business...  opened a neighborhood fitness club specially designed for baby boomers. Learning experience: business plan production, business finance, operations, retail pricing, marketing, and cost controls.

2006...  My wife and I bought an existing small business, customizing and selling high-end window coverings, sold through homebuilders and interior decorators.  Within a year we expanded our marketing with a retail showroom in 2008.  But the financial meltdown killed our business and we had to close.  Learning experience: business finance, pricing, marketing, and cost controls.

USBA is a non-profit service association offering specialized life and health insurance products and service solutions to members of the U.S. military and military veterans.

Senior Manager - Direct Marketing & Advertising

ü  Directed advertising, marketing, and customer service departments; $1.5MM annal marketing budgets.

ü  Designed successful life insurance lead generation print ads, sales collateral, and direct mail packets.

ü  Increased the generated leads for insurance financial product from 20K to 70K per year.

ü  Directed the creation and development of company's new lead-generation website.

ü  Initiated analytical segmentation and predictive modeling techniques for lead generation database.

ü  Initiated the use of national cable television as a low-cost lead-generation medium, resulting in a marked increase in business and a 20% reduction in lead costs.

ü  Led market strategy analysis to develop USBA's most successful insurance product, insuring 20,000 new customers.

üHandled bi-annual marketing presentations to the Board of Governors.
