Scott Chappelle owns and operates Strathmore Development Company, headquartered in East Lansing, Michigan. Since he started the enterprise in 1997, he has leveraged his expertise as a seasoned real estate professional, licensed lawyer, and certified public accountant. Today, Scott Chappelle spearheads Strathmore’s portfolio of projects, ranging from retail centers and apartment complexes to planned residential communities. Under Scott Chappelle’s leadership, Strathmore Development Company is engaged in local projects and ones outside the state. At the present time, the company is developing a 31-acre parcel in Fort Myers, Florida. When complete, the project, Alico Lakes Village Retail Development, will feature a mix of retail and commercial space. The firm also has two other active projects underway in Florida, one located in Bonita Springs and another south of Tampa. Moreover, Scott Chappelle directs developments within Michigan. In collaboration with Michigan State University and the city of East Lansing, he is supervising the construction of retail, residential, and high-rise office space. Spanning four city blocks, the project also will include a new performing arts theater for Michigan State University. Before shifting his focus to real estate, Mr. Chappelle worked in the legal and accounting fields. A certified public accountant, he spent several years assisting clients with tax planning and research. He also performed audits and prepared financial statements. In later years, he applied his knowledge of tax regulations as an attorney in private practice. From 1990 to 1998, he owned a legal concern that concentrated on tax, general business, and real estate law. Mr. Chappelle obtained a Juris Doctor from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School. He also earned a Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University.
