Sergio Corbo - Business Development and Strategy, Schneider Electric

Sergio is responsible for strategic business development in the North American Operating Division of Schneider Electric, targeting key acquisitions for portfolio management of $4.0 billion. His main areas of focus range from Electrical Distribution, to Power Electronics and Cleantech (Renewable Energy). Sergio continues to enjoy the contact with Academia as an Adjunct Professor of Management in The Jack C. Massey Graduate School of Business, at Belmont University, focused on the teaching of Strategic Management and International Business, with emphasis in the disciplines of Corporate Strategy, Applied Financial Analysis and Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A). Before Schneider, Sergio worked as a Director, Global Business Development and in various other positions in sales and marketing management at Magnetek and Ferrari, in Formula One racing. Sergio holds a Doctorate in Electronics and Telecommunications from the Universita' di Firenze in Italy and Strathclyde University in Glasgow, UK and an MBA from Vanderbilt University

·        Researched and identified new competitive forces by conducting technology platform and cost benchmarking of global competitors, which allowed for clear evaluation of potential impact on different regional markets and development of strategies to avoid possible threats.

·        Defined and managed overall business strategy, operations plan and financial performance for Asian subsidiaries, growing sales from $4M to $14M in three years and increasing EBITDA by 4%.

·        Integrated global engineering capabilities, achieving 20% cost reduction annually.

·        Consolidated global product development and introduction strategy, reducing TTM from

1.5 years to 6 months.

·        Established marketing research, product intelligence, strategic capacity planning and financial justification, leading to conception, development and successful introduction of

3 new product families in 12 months.

·        Conceived and secured funding for the transfer of existing technology and manufacturing capability to China, resulting in project completion within six months and 15% overall cost reduction.

·        Formalized and coordinated global materials sourcing role for Asian subsidiaries, establishing strategic alliances and growing from $0.4 to $4 million and delivering 20% cost reduction in the process.

·        Negotiated, established and managed strategic outsourcing partnership which resulted in business divestiture, delivering $6 million in sales with 10% cost reduction.

·        Introduced new product lines to Middle East and Europe with estimated sales of $3 million
