I am looking for a Buyer or Buyer/Planner position with a dynamic manufacturing company.  I have 9 years of purchasing experience, 15 years of production planning experience, as well as 22 years of Customer Service in various manufacturing environments, and I am very knowledgeable of manufacturing processes in a fast-paced environment. I truly believe that the customer always comes first and that an order must be met with the utmost priority.   • Opened all manufacturing jobs for plant production, created job menus for each sales order for ease in tracking jobs.

  • Went through all jobs and bill of materials to determine part requirements. Purchased steel burns and steel tubing, sending drawings to suppliers for quote on each job. Notified other buyers of parts to be purchased and deliveries needed. Assisted other buyers with their purchasing issues.

  • Created and utilized standard process for PO confirmation from vendors, requiring return e-mail or confirmation to ensure receipt of all purchase orders.

  • Worked closely with Engineering on new parts being released, determining vendors and pricing. Verified correct BOM structure entered in the system.

  • Worked with management to evaluate min/max and safety stock levels so MRP would be most effective.

  • Resolved purchase order discrepancies, invoice errors and un-reconciled inventory.

  • Purchased MRO items as needed by Maintenance or other departments.

  • Staggered JIT (Just-In-Time) deliveries of product to minimize inventory levels of 2-4 weeks.
