  • Responsible for commercial, business development and regulatory issues for a 1200 MW Power Project.
  • Handled multiple contracts related to power purchase including commercial and regulatory issues
  • Prepared request for qualification, techno-commercial proposal, bid strategy and financial model for bidding. Won a bid for supply of power at a tariff of US¢ 8 per Unit.
  • Prepared trading strategy and financial model for sale of power in power exchange
  • Sold electricity on short, medium and long term to various customers for a cumulative value of USD 1 Billion
  • Played a significant role in filing a Tariff Revision Application that seeks tariff correction of US¢ 2.2 per Unit towards change in law, force majeure and compensatory tariff through exercise of Regulatory powers of Court.
  • Carried out commercial due diligence of a gas based power project in Bangladesh.
  • Reviewed key government policies on standard bidding documents, new tariff regulations, Ministry of Coal and advised improvement through appropriate forum.
  • Highlighted key issues impacting power business and prepared strategy and way forward to mitigate those issues. For example, advised termination of a contract involving stakes of millions of dollars that was approved by management.
  • Negotiated a lower rebate of 2% instead of 2.25% in a Contract that saved USD 1 million for the Company. After this refund was issued to our company and all other generators in the State. Won USD 40 Million commercial dispute of Liquidated Damage against a Distribution Company in Gujarat.

  • Brainstormed the strategy for market penetration in Nigeria through acquisition of stressed assets, setting up of power projects and expansion though setting up various strategic alliances.
  • Prepared Expression of Interests and Techno-commercial offers for power projects in Nigeria.
  • Conducted Due Diligence and financial analyses for two Power Stations with an aim of acquiring those. 
  • Evaluated proposals with six prospective industry players for “go” or “no go” decision
  • Executed Memorandum of Understanding with two states in Nigeria for setting up power projects.

  • Conducted market scanning & research of power sector in Africa, Middle East and South East Asia.
  • Served as Bid Manager and prepared techno-commercial offers for consultancy projects in energy domain.
  • Pitched presentation about NTPC’s capabilities to the top management of international clients.
  • Worked on commercial agreements for putting up a 1320 MW power project in Bangladesh and a 500 MW power project in Sri Lanka respectively. 
  • Prepared a techno-commercial proposal that was won by NTPC enabling it to foray in the international O&M segment.

  • Performed analytical research, due diligence, financial modelling and rendered valuation support to nine companies in the renewable energy sector using Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), Options Valuation, Comparable techniques and Venture Capital methods for possible investments of over USD 200 MM.
  • Forecasted the financials and calculated exit value of the investment for maximizing Return on Investment.
  • Played a key role in preparing company valuations for Miasole, a company engaged in manufacturing solar panels using CIGS technology. The findings were used by Board of Directors to approve USD 15 MM equity investments.
