Talent Identification
I began my career as a 'grass-roots' recruiter. Early in my career, we never utilized job boards like Monster and Career Builder. I became proficient at cold calling and using referrals to identify talent. This remains the method I utilize the most in my recruiting efforts.
Corporate Recruiting
As an in-house, corporate recruiter with Odyssey Healthcare, I recruited for the midwest and northeast regions. During the first year working in the northeast, I replaced the RVP and 8 out of 10 of the General Managers. I recruited from the RVP level down to the Executive Assistant level. Positions recruited included: RVP, General Manager, Director of Patient Services, Clinical Managers, Social Workers, RN, office managers, chaplains, sales reps and executive assistant.
Full-Cycle Recruiting
A full cycle recruiter knows how to obtain a search; negotiate the fee; find the ideal candidate; manage the interview, offer and acceptance process; and close the deal. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to do some or all of these simultaneously. As a limited partner with RN Database, I obtained new clients as well as closed the deal. As an in-house corporate recruiter with Odyssey Healthcare, I closed 150+ searches in my 2 1/2 years with the company.
