DYW is the oldest and largest scholarship program for high school girls in the nation. I was nominated with two other girls by a teacher to be a participant. I had to attend a four hour rehearsal every Saturday for two and half months . At the rehearsals we had workshops that allowed us to practice interview skills, public speaking skills and talk to motivational speakers such as Ironman Triathletes, Kathleen McCartney and Julie Moss.
