Annual San Diego Chinese New Year Fair Volunteer

In the volunteer role at the Chinese New Year Fair I have done activities from handing out Chinese food to being a part of the  street cleaning team.

Craft Booth Team

As a part of the Craft Booth team I had to arrive at the event an hour before it began to help prepare the craft materials and clean the booth. During the fair hours I would then be responsible for helping kids with their crafts, re-supplying the materials and promote the children's parade the fair had everyday.

My duties on the care team was to clean the litter boxes, feed the rabbits, assist managers at any given time,  and clean dirty laundry.

I attended a four hour rehearsal every Saturday for two and half months . At the rehearsals we had workshops that allowed us to practice interview skills and public speaking skills.

I won a $250 scholarship for the public speaking section of DYW. I was judged off my ability to stay poised, confident and maintain stage presence.
