    About Sara Townsend (Santa Clara )

    Sara Townsend is a student at the Santa Clara University School of Law, where she expects to graduate with a juris doctor in December 2016. While completing her legal training, she served as managing editor of the Santa Clara High Technology Law Journal and competed with the Honors Moot Court External team in the California Bar Student Environmental Negotiations Competition. In addition, in 2015 Sara Townsend received the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence in Remedies.

    Prior to this, she completed a master of arts in marine affairs and policy in conjunction with the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, where she served as a division representative for the Marine Science Graduate Student Organization. She received a bachelor of science in ecology and evolution and a bachelor of arts in environmental studies from the University of California.

    She has expressed her acumen through her work with several regulatory, public-sector, and nongovernmental organizations across the United States and abroad. Among others, these include the California Coastal Commission, Marine Life Protection Act Initiative, National Marine Fisheries Service, International Fund for Animal Welfare, Natural Resources Defense Council, and Hawai'i Wildlife Fund.
