As I contemplate my graduation from Oakland University as an Accounting major and begin my search for a career, it is crucial I that find work I will be passionate about. During my experiences at Oakland University and my recent internships I have realized that I want to change lives. I get genuinely excited about working with people and helping others. That is what I want my career to be about.
This has inspired me to plan a post graduation mission trip to Haiti. I will be visiting three schools, an orphanage, and a clinic. My group plans to install an electric well at the clinic to provide them with running water as well as a swing set for the children at each of the three schools. I am overwhelmed with excitement about my trip and the chance to meet and learn about the inspirational people who live there.
At Oakland I’ve been a four year NCAA collegiate athlete in Cross Country and Track and Field. That experience has taught me dedication, determination, and the principles of hard work.
I have also participated in numerous volunteer roles including Project SHALOM, Fundraisers, and helping at the Special Olympics. These volunteer experiences have been some of the most rewarding work I have done.
My hope is to find a position that will allow me to work with and help others as well as combine my passions for humanities and business.
