CAREER GOAL

My long-term goal is to be a sports reporter across a variety of platforms.

I’m sports-obsessed and love the way in which the games and personalities shape our understanding of broader social and political issues.

AFL and cricket columnist

The Roar

I have written a weekly AFL column for the sports website throughout 2015. My most widely read article was on the Adam Goodes spear-throwing incident and the fallout from the event – it gathered over 15,000 reads in the space of a day. I was also an integral part of the team that live-blogged the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup.

Internships

Nov - Dec 2015      The Herald Sun

Jun - Oct 2015        7 News, Melbourne
I spent three weeks each in general news and sport during my mid-semester break, and was asked to continue to intern in sport throughout semester two. I have attended press conferences, interviewed talent, written VOs, edited footage and shadowed reporters.

Aug - Oct 2014        The Conversation
I interned on the Business and Economy Desk, where my role was to assist the editors by pitching ideas, contacting and liaising with writers/academics, as well as general research. I was responsible for editing work and meeting daily deadlines.
