This course included modules in all curriculum areas, in depth training on effective delivery of the National Curriculum and placements in primary schools, secondary schools and a museum. In my final year I became a specialist in Modern Foreign Languages.

4 Weeks Study Abroad Programme

During this programme I participated in basic Mandarin in reading, writing and speaking lessons. I observed Music, Art, PE, English, Marching Drills and taught English in a nearby Primary School. I fully experienced and immersed myself in Chinese culture.

I am currently working as a Year 1 teacher in an international school in Milan, Italy. My main duties include planning and delivering innovative and engaging lessons to children who have English as a Second Language. I am responsible for monitoring and assessing pupil progress across the curriculum.  I also work alongside other teachers to monitor and support ESL children. I am responsible for ESL resources in the school.

My 3rd and final School Experience at University. This school was situated in a small, rural town in Yorkshire. I took on the role as class teacher for the duration of the placement, thus I was responsible for planning, teaching, assessing pupils and communicating effectively with their parents.

I worked in a team of 6 to plan and deliver a 2 week sports programme to children aged between 7 and 11 years old. I also worked alongside the aquatics team at swimming lessons twice a week.

Skills and Interests


I am willing to adapt to meet the needs and demands of the workplace. I am able to think on my feet and respond well to new situations and changes. 


Travelling is a great passion of mine and I love to immerse myself in new cultures. Travelling has enriched my teaching through collecting a bank of resources, stories and experiences which I love to share.


I am confident at using a range of Windows and Adobe programs, including Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Movie Maker. I have had experience of using iPads and iMacs.  I am also a keen photographer in my spare time.


Through specialising in Modern Foreign Languages I am confident and passionate about teaching MFL. I have very basic knowledge of Italian and Mandarin and I have studied German up to GCSE level. My recent experience of working with ESL learners both in my current class and in private tutoring lessons has greatly improved my confidence and passion for teaching English as a foreign language.

I am very much a team player and throughout my work experiences and my current job I have demonstrated my ability to develop effective, professional relationships with colleagues and communicate with children, parents and colleagues well.
