General Manager, Solutions: Unified Communications and Healthcare


The Group is responsible for Nortel’s Vertical Strategy and vertical specific Solutions. The first Vertical of focus is Healthcare. The Group is responsible for creating and introducing an innovative set of healthcare communication enabled business process solutions. The Group is also responsible for creating a healthcare savvy sales/SE force as well as a healthcare specific GTM and services capabilities. The group is also responsible for large complex reference UC solutions.

·Grew Nortel’s business in Healthcare 30% through 2008 (Double the Market Growth rate) and is forecast to grow by 7-9% through 2009 (Double The market Growth Rate). Drove several GTM enhancements including segmentation of healthcare specific Sales force, New region/channel development, Channel certification program and Integration with Clinical applications providers.

·Set up new team and processes for Complex Unified Communications and Healthcare Solution reference architecture, development, support, integration capability for Nortel. These solutions are targeted at the large enterprise and included Nortel/MSFT UC solutions along with Nortel Data, Voice, IVR/CC products and 3rd part products/services. This involved working across many business units to drive a set of solutions that met and exceeded customer requirements.

Responsible for the overall Healthcare solutions P&L including-Product management, R&D, Business Development and Solutions Marketing. Delivered Innovative Healthcare Communication Enabled Business Process (CEBP) solutions that help accelerate the Business process for Healthcare providers through the use of Unified Communications, Mobility and 3rd party products that met and exceeded customer requirements.


Director, Ethernet Switching Product Management and Marketing


The group was responsible for Nortel's Ethernet Switching Business including the P&L, Investment Roadmap, Product innovation, GTM and Marketing

  • Turned around a loss making business to a 10%+ OM business through top line growth, effective lifecycle management, Lower cost product introduction, Sales Enablement and aggressive competitive targeting.
  • Grew Market share in 2007 from a business that had a flat to declining market share. Increased AR/PR coverage of Nortel’s Ethernet Switching product line through aggressive outreach. Achieved a substantial improvement in Gartner MQ as well as recommendations for Nortel Switching line.
  • Drove a more scalable R&D capability through Aggressive off-shoring and building out in-house R&D teams in China and India.

Responsibilities included Product Management and Product Marketing.


Director, Data Product marketing EMEA


The group was responsible for the P&L for Nortel's Data Product's in EMEA. The responsibilities included GTM, Marketing, pricing, Channel, revenue and Margin delivery for data product in EMEA

  • Grew the EMEA Data business at 6% YoY to be 50% of Nortel Global Data Business over 7 Years.
  • Grew a profitable unmanaged data business through Distributors and New Channels.
  • Launched very aggressive Competitive Attack programs against Cisco that resulted in revenue Ramp of 15% for a Switching product line. This program was adopted globally.
  • Set up a Competitive Intelligence function that delivered CI info for the Global Sales team. Also set up a fortnightly Sales/SE Training program that was adopted by the Global Sales/SE team
