OUTPATIENT: Assist Physical/Occupational Therapists with therapeutic exercises, ambulation, modalities, report observations to Therapist. Monitor and document Environmental of Care rounds according to JCAHO inspections. Assist patients in the use of prosthetic devices. INPATIENT: Retrieve Restorative List daily from recommendations of Physical/Occupational Therapists on Epic Hyperspace software. Work independently with patients to perform PT/OT techniques including: ROM, ambulation, strengthening with/without therabands, stretching. Strong communication with patients, family, and members of healthcare team. Reinforce and encourage patient and family teaching methods regarding therapeutic techniques. Assist nursing staff in providing bed baths, transfers, repositioning, respiratory functions/procedures, intake/output, toileting, wound care. Operate converter beds, pulse oximeters, automatic thermometers, BP monitors, utilizing safety precautions when caring for patients with IV tubes, drains, wounds, dressings and oxygen. Conducted In-service on Ambulation and Ambulation Devices for Restorative Team.
