About Sam Wyley Clayton NM

Before settling in Clayton, NM, Sam Wyley maintained responsibilities as a field engineer and SPALT writer for General Dynamics AIS in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. While with General Dynamics AIS, he sold various weapon systems to the US Navy, installed software updates, and contributed to the Navy’s implementation of both the MK 98 mod 0 and MK 98 mod 6/7 fire control systems. Sam Wyley currently works outside of Clayton at the Britt Land and Cattle ranch in Nara Visa, NM. As a ranch foreman, he supervises the raising of 500 cows and calves, manages the grazing land, and performs mechanical repairs on ranch equipment.

Mr. Wyley previously served for over six years in the US Navy, where he earned several submarine qualifications, including periscope certification and Fire Control Technician of the Watch. As a fire control technician on an Ohio class submarine, he utilized the MK 98 weapon system to target potential threats and maintained diverse instrumentation integral to the system.

Outside of his professional duties, Sam Wyley engages in a broad range of activities, from flying airplanes to horseback riding. He spends his free time learning about new fields of interest, reading the Wall Street Journal, and researching investment opportunities. He also enjoys sampling new foods from diverse cuisines and taking trips to the Caribbean.
