Revenue Tax Specialist

Work independently to determine and collect the amount of tax due by the taxpayer.Tax is determined by asking questions, investigating documents, or searching for information online/in the state’s database and evaluating the sum total of information.Regularly liaise with other offices to stay up-to-date on all applicable laws, rules, and regulations and translate that information to the taxpayer.

oMultiple daily compliments on my oral communication skills, including: handling irate taxpayers, explaining complex tax laws and how it applies to them, communicating with my supervisor when being updated on a new procedure, answering questions, etc.

oFirst line of support when any hardware/software problems arise with our computer/printer equipment for the last 2 years, including: maintaining the printer, setting up new software and hardware, troubleshooting hardware/software problems, help specialists at other locations with their technical issues, etc.

oUnsupervised daily maintenance of over $20,000 worth of cash and checks for myself and 2 other specialists.

oProduce detailed reports on daily/monthly basis that document the amount of money that we collect, type of tax collected, phone calls, attendance records, and more.Reports are entered, modified, and extracted from both local and statewide databases.

oPromoted to RTS I from RTS Trainee in June of 2007.

Though this usually isn't listed as a skill, I believe that my personality has been an asset to me throughout both my school and work careers.  I have an engaging personality and a warm demeanor, and I believe that helps me connect with both co-workers and clients.

I am advanced in various computer programs, such as: Internet Explorer, Firefox, Netscape, Microsoft Works, etc.  I can pick up on computer programs very quickly.
