Youth Group Adviser

B'nai B'rith Youth Organization, Springfield, MA 

Oversaw pluralistic Jewish teen-lead youth group that focuses on encouraging local students in fostering a Jewish identity, creating inclusive communities and developing active leadership skills. As an adviser, my work focused on facilitating teen-led workshops, leading monthly lectures on teen-related topics such as bullying, stress, college information, etc., and acting as liaison between teen leaders, partner advisers and parents on how the youth group was succeeding.

Day Camp Worker

Jewish Community Center, Springfield, MA

Supervised children and teens during summer day camps. The day camp position requires implementing weekly schedules, organizing small and large activities such as sports, parent's nights, arts and crafts, etc., and responding to irregular behavior.  The liaison to international counselors position interviews, hires, facilitates communication between, finds housing for  and conducts weekly reviews for international staff of the community center. The post camp coordinator position requires implementing weekly schedules, supervising counselors and communicating with parents about participants' experiences.

Teaching Volunteer

USAC Chiang Mai University, Chiang Mai, Thailand

Volunteered with a public Buddhist Temple School teaching English to monks ages 12-16. The work aimed at providing young monks with English proficiency assistance and immersive language practice. My assistance focused on acting as a language partner and as a teaching assistant on nuances of the English language.

Produced and announced radio programs of musical selections on air and logged entries of all elements aired during broadcast . As a program producer, I commented on music and other matters of interest to the audience such as university events, radio promotions and news. On a regular basis, interviews of local musicians and members of the listening community were conducted on air.
