Chemical Laboratory Instrumentation Technician, maintained, and coordinated activities requiring analytical instrumentation in support of teaching, research and routine chemical analysis for the Department of Chemistry. Performed instrument calibration, troubleshooting, repair and new instrumentation / new analytical technology procurement. Performed method/procedure troubleshooting, method modification and new method implementation. Current focus determination of emerging contaminates in environmental samples via HPLC/ IC / ICP and seawater analysis via IC with ppb quantitation limits for NO2, NO3 and PO4. Required use of a Dionex ICS 5000 IC, Agilent 1100 HPLC, Varian 500 Ion Trap LC-MS, and a Varian 720-ES Axial ICP.
