Since beginning my path to becoming a registered dietitian, I have been able to strengthen my research knowledge, leadership skills, public speaking abilities, and overall professional development. My studies and experiences have helped me become more diverse and confident as a soon to be registered dietitian. They have also made me aware that my passion and strength is in nutrition and helping others make healthy lifestyle changes.
Completed a comprehensive and rigorous dietetic internship which included 1,200 hours of supervised practice rotations- 10 weeks in food service management rotations, 31 weeks in outpatient and inpatient rotations, and 5 weeks in community rotations.
During my time at Rush, I have had the wonderful opportunity to teach and talk about nutrition to a wide variety of populations all the way from preschoolers to senior citizens! Below I have some links to my community experiences.
Throughout my time at Rush I have had the amazing opportunity to conduct research. My research has primarily been in pediatrics- which is the area in which I would love to practice in one day as a Registered Dietitian!
During my dietetic internship at Rush, I completed 10 weeks in food service. During this time I supervised food service employees, conducted sanitation and quality control inspections, as well as assisted in improving Press Ganey scores. I also developed a salad recipe which can be found below.
