Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve competency matrices against five dimensions (Knowledge, Personality, Technical, Performance and Organization) for each discipline.
  • Validate staff self assessment and determine the competency gap.
  • Analyze gaps and recommend suitable training material.

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Develop and audit department procedures and processes to reflect new adapted strategies.
  • Regular/frequent face-to-face meetings with fresh and intermediate engineers to validate their level of satisfaction and further development needs.
  • Encourage in-house senior engineers to act as subject matter experts and participate in the development of their department fresh and intermediate engineers.

This is a research facility for SABIC in China and it is foreseened to be SABIC main HQ. It’s designed to host SABIC Innovative Plastic team and it’s Technical Support team beside SABIC China Commercial team. Total designed staff office space is 1500.

SABTANK, is SABIC main east front storage and exportation facility of its end products as well as its main import of its raw material. It’s one of many SABIC affiliates company and its main function is serving other SABIC affiliates in exporting and importing products/material.

  • Managing for SABTANK site facilities add-on, De bottle nicking and grass root projects.

Electrical Maintenance Section Head

Company Description

This is one of SABIC affiliated company called IBN ZAHR. Its more than 20 years of service and the Electrical system had never been properly assessed nor subject to proper turn arounds. During my stay the entire electrical had been assessed and preventive and corrective plans were made and executed.

Responsibilities
  • Managing site Electrical facilities maintenance. Acting leader for newly developed Reliability department.
  • Initiated and developed new preventive maintenance procedures based on each equipment OEM recommended best practices for all major electrical system (230KV GIS, 34KV GIS, 13.8KV, 4.16KV, 380V, PCCs & MCCs).
  • Monitor Electrical daily energy consumption and map it to previous readings for assessing and determining reasons of change and verification of power monthly consumption bills.

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control power factor to always be within acceptable range of 0.93 - 0.89
  • Ensure that restarting relays are healthy and are always able to pick up and bring units into system in case of dips.
  • Initiate and deploy SABIC HSE within procedures for best interest of assets (people and machinery).
  • Regular morning meetings with other concerned department to asses and plan next actions.

This is a common project between IBN ZAHR and IBN AL BAYTTAR to comply with SABIC new guidelines to migrate its Electrical system from 34KV and 115KV to 230KV grid. The objective is to avoid the too many system failures that led to loose of production and subjected equipment’s to excessive starting currents. The system is designed to take the full load of current and projects loads of new planned production facilities. Each feeder is designed on redundant concept where each can take the full load. Initially it was sought and planned to have single SCECO incoming feeder of 230KV where as a future plan (beyond project scope and limited by SCECO available net grid at that time) is to consider another in order reduce risks of single feeder failure. First SABIC 230KV GIS system.
