45.5 hours direct community service in the summer of 2004. While a member of the Marin Conservation Corps' Project ReGeneration Community Service and Environmental Education Program.
The service projects consisted of recycling collection and sorting, community beautification/litter abatement, marine surveys and restoration, habitat restoration and exotic plant species removal, native plant nursery work, gardening, trail maintenance and building, and other environmentally-related projects.
Also conducted member-led community service projects in which I learned about my community, conducted needs assessments in the community, and completed service projects where together we found a specific need. Some of these projects included; building wood boxes for owl habitat, serving food at St. Vincent de Paul Dining Room, gleaning organic produce and delivering it to food banks, holding a car wash for the Marin Humane Society, and creek restoration projects.
