San Rafael Little League

The umpire must command respect and enforce the rules of the game.  Also acknowledge the children and be a good ambassador for Little League.  This is done by following the attributes of understanding the rules, while also studying the Leagues whose reactions don't always coincide with the adult's. Along with a mental attitude  and willingness to answer a legitimate question, and solve the problem constructively.  With cooperation, confidence and goodwill to encourage a positive attitude.  Setting an example by remaining calm and exercising good judgment.  Function as a team is one of my strongest traits.

Marin Conservation Corp
45.5 hours direct community service in the summer of 2004.  While a member of the Marin Conservation Corps' Project ReGeneration Community Service and Environmental Education Program.   The service projects consisted of recycling collection and sorting, community beautification/litter abatement, marine surveys and restoration, habitat restoration and exotic plant species removal, native plant nursery work, gardening, trail maintenance and building, and other environmentally-related projects.   Also conducted member-led community service projects in which I learned about my community, conducted needs assessments in the community, and completed service projects where together we found a specific need.  Some of these projects included; building wood boxes for owl habitat, serving food at St. Vincent de Paul Dining Room, gleaning organic produce and delivering it to food banks, holding a car wash for the Marin Humane Society, and creek restoration projects.
My favorite academic subject is mathematics.  This is probably because I excel at it.  Mathematics is a very structured subject that is like a ladder, "You can't get to the top without all the steps."  Repeatedly testing in the 99% in Mathematics, Problem Solving & Procedures.

Ema Drouillard

Ryan assisted me as a photographer for destination weddings in San Francisco.  Shooting both indoor and outdoor wedding ceremonies, handling equipment along with providing support during the photo sessions.  He is in the right place at the right time, every time.  I have never felt so supported.  Couples commented on how Ryan is right on the mark every minute.  He has assisted with the many events that come up unexpectedly with ease and grace.  Parking cars, handling guests, holding the diffuser, finding interesting ways to photograph the wedding ceremony.  He assisted with the six year old daughter of the bride when she had a meltdown.  He is the very best assistant I have had, spoiled me completely.

Dr. Gary Graves

Instructor's Narrative of Student's Performance: Ryan's progress in this course was impressive.  He demonstrated great commitment and considerable comic ability in much of the work he undertook, including two monologues and two scenes.  In a stunning effort, he teamed up with another student to do Abbott and Costello's famous routine, Who's On First, and together they brought the house down in the final performance of the piece.  He also made considerable gains in ta scene titled, Only a Game, working hard to intensify the conflict and interaction with is acting partner.  He freely participated in class improvisations, often making clever and imaginative contributions.  A willingness to take on big challenges, a playful spirit, and a wonderful sense of humor distinguished Ryan's acting in this course.  I encourage him to continue the study of acting, if he wishes to do so.

Gary Kitajo

Instructor's Narrative of Student's Performance:  Brimming with youthful exuberance and always ready with a droll comment, Ryan bought a wry whimsy to the course.  He continually delighted his colleagues with his upbeat and lighthearted approach to the class.  Seemingly boundless in his playful energy, Ryan was, however, respected as much for his knowledge of the subject matter as he was for his wit.  Lurking behind his lively demeanor was a very solid foundation of academic ability.  Just as ready to offer a masterful, reasoned observation based on his command of the law as he was to tell a joke, Ryan frequently came through with an especially insightful analysis in our class discussions.  On one occasion, for example, he was the only student in the class to score correctly on a particularly challenging quiz question, with his accompanying analysis of his response clearly showing that his answer was anything but a fluke.  In every aspect of the course, Ryan vigorously participated, demonstrating not only his wit and verve, but his very serious scholarhsip, as well.

I thrive in a team environment.  Logically expressing order to establish a sense of value and purpose in life.  By making an individual contribution, achievement is a certain end.  Collective forces offers new experience in an ever boarding approach to guide and support the group.  Driven to explore, to find what is solid through strategic actions.  The guidance is to create order, ideas and values in an ordered framework which inspires humanistic cooperation.
