Inside Sales Representative

This position consisted of a variety of tasks as the location had a team of 5 employees. I was trained in various aspects of the business to be able to help in those areas as needed. I worked in phone sales, shipping and receiving, gasket & hose assembly, and some administration & office work.

  • Creating purchase orders for various clients , ordering the products from vendors, and providing an estimated date for arrival. Picking purchase & transfer orders by hand or forklift within warehouse, allocating inventory and resources within the warehouse, sending out products via couriers and shipping companies, and unpacking, sorting, & receiving shipping into database.
  • Selling bearings, v & synchronized belts, hydraulics, and other industrial components. Taking vendor courses to be able to improve sales and solve advanced customer issues over the phone or the counter. 
  • Drawing and cutting gaskets using hydraulic press, cutting wheel, or by hand. Identifying materials based on texture, color, weight, and thickness to determine if was gylon, neoprene, isoprene, or a variety of rubbers and fibers.
  • Constructing a variety of air and hydraulic hose assemblies for different applications using punch locks or crimping tools.
  • Reporting daily cash and credit purchases into corporate database, troubleshooting computer issues and working with support technicians, opening and closing the warehouse, and meeting with outside sales representatives and vendors.
  • Filing sales invoices, purchase & transfer orders, vendor receipts, accounts receivable/payable, pro forma, service orders, and shipping papers.

Customer Service Representative

Worked in several departments within the company such as: appliance sales, e-commerce, installations, customer care, chat, and escalations for the Home Depot website. This consisted of phone calls for inbound assistance and outbound sales, as well as chat software. The work was sales and customer service orientated and consisted of:

  • Assisting customers with purchasing products on the website over the phone and using chat software, tracking orders through a wide array of couriers, and part replacement for various products.
  • Booking  installations for projects,  filling out detailed renovation reports, inputting them as leads into SAP, and recommending services and sales.
  • Listening and understanding customer issues with empathy, apologizing for these issues, and recording them using SAP software to be settled by an escalations agent.
  • Resolving complaints on behalf of the organization as an escalations agent, acting as a mediator,  and negotiating compensation for installation issues.
  • Selling appliances, extended service plans, and booking deliveries over the phone while exceeding weekly sales goals of $15,000, with some weeks of $30,000 or more in sales.

Technical Support Agent

The position started with a 16 week training course on internet conductivity and related software. The job consisted of inbound tech-support and some outbound sales calls for  Verizon business internet customers. The tasks included the following:

  • Assisting customers by trouble-shooting internet conductivity and networking issues over the phone and using screen sharing applications.
  • Selling internet packages to these customers based on their individual needs, prices, and bandwidth.
  • Using ticketing software to send local technicians to customers place of business for issues like wiring and weak signals.
  • Logging the troubleshooting steps of the call, customer complaints, and line data into database for follow-up.

  • Proficient in applications such as: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, and Dynamics as well as Word Perfect Office Suite, and SAP. 
  • Familiar with Microsoft Windows, Apple OS X, and Linux operating systems such as Ubuntu.
  • Canadian Securities Course.
  • St. Johns Ambulance CPR & AED First Aid and WHIMS Certifications.
  • Class C forklift licensed.
