Editor and Content Writer

Specialist – The Content Agency, Bristol

Responsible for producing a consumer magazine for one of the leading diet organisations in the UK, LighterLife. Planning, writing, editing and commissioning the content of each issue, reflecting the brand's philosophy and personality. As well as implementing their marketing strategy by creating content for their website, blog, social media, marketing material and internal comms to engage current and prospective clients. Topics include inspirational member success, recipes, psychology, fitness, fashion, hobbies and the latest credible weight-loss science. I also supervise a small team of creatives, organise and oversee magazine photo shoots and page layout, liaise with the client to deliver new content ideas, and help develop the brand's PR and magazine publishing strategy.

Assisted the editor in producing the LighterLife diet magazine and the day-to-day running of the account. Tasks included writing on-brand content and marketing material for print and online channels to encourage new customer revenue. I also managed account admin, such as meeting agendas, magazine flat plans and schedules, and worked with a busy design studio to ensure client briefs got delivered on time and to the highest possible standard. Additionally, I organised fashion photo shoots and conference events, and interviewed weight-loss clients and industry professionals for print and video.

Produced a monthly magazine celebrating the best of Carmarthenshire living, including local business, food, arts, lifestyle and tourism. Also, I wrote engaging features and advertorials, supervised the design and layout of magazine pages, managed a small team of internal and freelance staff, and built and maintained key relationships with community organisations.

Broadcast Journalist

Afan FM Radio, Port Talbot, Wales

Wrote and broadcasted live hourly news, informing listeners of the most up-to-date local and national news. Investigated local stories by contacting authorities and carrying out interviews within the community. I also wrote pitches and scripts for adverts and had a two-hour music and general interests show on a Sunday morning.
