CEO Successor and VP - Sales and Marketing responsible for leading the global sales, marketing & business development for Packeteer, a ~$170M per year public firm located in Cupertino, CA. Packeteer is the global leader in WAN and Application Optimization solutions for enterprises & service providers, providing intelligent, high performance application delivery solutions across wide-area networks. Achieved postitive results in this role with excellent references. On 4/21/08, Packeteer announced its pending acquisition by Blue Coat which will trigger a change of control in my executive contract.

Products include the Motorola Surfboard Cable Modems/Routers, Netopia xDSL modems/routers, & large scale software solutions that provide CPE management & remote access solutions. Additionally responsible for developing strategic direction of Motorola’s “femtocell” fixed mobile convergence solution & leading telecom market development. Assigned to this post following the successful integration of Netopia, Inc. into Motorola’s Connected Home Division.

Responsible for the Sales, Product Management, Marketing, Business Development and Tech Support organizations for Netopia, Inc. [NTPA] located in Emeryville, CA. Netopia is a market leader and innovator in broadband customer premises equipment, remote management software, and broadband services. Netopia offers carrier-class wired and wireless modems, routers, and gateways. Netopia gateways serve markets from residential through enterprise-scale distributed businesses, and enable broadband access for voice, video, data, and other services. After a year of QoQ sequential revenue growth including two record revenue quarters in the 20 year history of Netopia, we announced on November 21, 2006 that Motorola will acquire Netopia. That acquisition successfully completed February 2007, with a continuing role with the new expanded broadband CPE business inside of Motorola.

Lead the effort to acquire equity investment to carve out the Sniffer business and re-estabish Network General, Inc. Remained on board during the transition period as CEO consultant to Texas Pacific Group and Silverlake Partners.  Remained as consultant to CEO until December 2005.

Lead the start-up internet business for BellSouth while it grew to $450M in revenues within the first 3.5 years of operation. Fulfilled challenge to establish BellSouth as a major internet presence. Aggressive growth of this unit moved it to #2 in marketshare amongst internet service providers in the southeastern US and was in the top 10 of largest US internet providers within its first 2.5 years of operation.
