CEO Successor and VP - Sales and Marketing responsible for leading the global sales, marketing & business development for Packeteer, a ~$170M per year public firm located in Cupertino, CA. Packeteer is the global leader in WAN and Application Optimization solutions for enterprises & service providers, providing intelligent, high performance application delivery solutions across wide-area networks. Achieved postitive results in this role with excellent references. On 4/21/08, Packeteer announced its pending acquisition by Blue Coat which will trigger a change of control in my executive contract.

Responsible for leading the Customer Marketing, Product Marketing & Partnership Development for Motorola’s $600M per year Broadband Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) Business. Products include the Motorola Surfboard Cable Modems/Routers, Netopia xDSL modems/routers, & large scale software solutions that provide CPE management & remote access solutions. Additionally responsible for developing strategic direction of Motorola’s “femtocell” fixed mobile convergence solution & leading telecom market development. Assigned to this post following the successful integration of Netopia, Inc. into Motorola’s Connected Home Division.

Responsible for the Sales, Product Management, Marketing, Business Development and Tech Support organizations for Netopia, Inc. [NTPA] located in Emeryville, CA. Netopia is a market leader and innovator in broadband customer premises equipment, remote management software, and broadband services. Netopia offers carrier-class wired and wireless modems, routers, and gateways. Netopia gateways serve markets from residential through enterprise-scale distributed businesses, and enable broadband access for voice, video, data, and other services. After a year of QoQ sequential revenue growth including two record revenue quarters in the 20 year history of Netopia, we announced on November 21, 2006 that Motorola will acquire Netopia. That acquisition successfully completed February 2007, with a continuing role with the new expanded broadband CPE business inside of Motorola.

Corporate officer of the Network Associates management team, specifically responsible for all aspects of the global network management and fault-ID business, Network General/Sniffer Technologies. This business is a +$200M per year global market leader in network management. Lead the most aggressive new product rollout in Sniffer/Network General history while achieving strong financial results around the globe. Lead the effort to acquire equity investment to carve out the Sniffer business and re-estabish Network General, Inc. Remained on board during the transition period as CEO consultant to Texas Pacific Group and Silverlake Partners.  Remained as consultant to CEO until December 2005.

Responsible for driving the investment direction of more than $5B annually to transform the data and voice network for BellSouth. Responsibilities included management of the Science & Technology division to evaluate, acquire and roll-out new network technology in BellSouth's US footprint, regional network planning of billions of dollars of technology assets, including capacity management and product commercialization of those assets.

Lead the start-up internet business for BellSouth while it grew to $450M in revenues within the first 3.5 years of operation. Fulfilled challenge to establish BellSouth as a major internet presence. Aggressive growth of this unit moved it to #2 in marketshare amongst internet service providers in the southeastern US and was in the top 10 of largest US internet providers within its first 2.5 years of operation. Over 1M internet subscribers were achieved by year 2000: •Five LOB’s: Mass Market Internet Access (DSL and Dial), Business Dedicated & Managed Services, Web Hosting, & Portal. •Industry benchmarks placed BellSouth.net consistently at or near the top of national ISPs in terms of Growth & Quality. •#1 Ranking in Inter@ctive Week’s Top National Business ISPs and #2 Ranking in JD Powers ISP 1999 National Customer Satisfaction Survey (#1 amongst RBOC ISP’s)

This was considered the first “fixed mobile convergence” technology to be deployed. • Grew the business to $12M in revenues selling software products worldwide to mobile/telecom providers. • Implemented a progressive product development process to foster roll-out of highly-customized creative AIN services. • Established strategic development initiatives that provided new innovative applications for wireless operators of Cellular, GSM, and wireline communications.
