- Database Administrator – Perform regularly scheduled and ad hoc maintenance and administration functions for six Oracle 11gR2 instances and five SQL Server 2005 instances, including (but not limited to): installation, patching and upgrade of database instances; implementation of security-related software patches directed through DoD Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts, in accordance with relevant Security Technical Implementation Guidelines; backup and recovery planning and implementation; table and index size estimation and storage capacity planning; database health checks and performance monitoring; SQL query tuning and optimization; implementation of discretionary access controls (roles and privileges), implementation of Oracle Transparent Data Encryption, and development of Virtual Private Database contexts, policies and packaged predicate functions.
- Principal Database Analyst - Software Design Lead (Front End / Back End / Legacy Reuse) for SQL Server instances supporting the NAVAIR Knowledge Management System and ManTech Help Desk/Asset Tracking System, Contract Management System, and Engineering & Systems Support Group Info Center. Oracle database and back end software developer for the NAVAIR Military Flight Operations Quality Assurance System. Database design consultant for PMA-281 Weaponeering And Stores Planning Common Component.
Designed, developed, and maintained database structures, interfaces, and supporting documentation to sustain crucial business processes of both Navy and ManTech customers. Conducted technical analyses of software requirements, system enhancements, legacy data migration, and interface updates for key DoD, Navy, and ManTech systems. Evaluated and developed solutions to emerging technical issues.
Mentored junior programmers, and consulted with developers in other specialties over critical database design/management issues.
