  • Developed yearly income for operations, capital improvements and construction of 13 Boys & Girls Clubs located throughout Palm Beach County.
  • Identified new income sources through private foundations and government grants.
  • Secured a five-year grant totaling more than $3 million from the State Department of Education adding 26 certified teachers and 24 paraprofessionals to enhance education programs for Title I students.
  • Coordinated weekly grant meetings with management and was charged with the communication between department managers with regard to current grants and future funding needs.
  • Assured grant compliance through various foundation reports.
  • Authored communication materials including press releases, quarterly 8-12 page newsletter, annual report and other Boys & Girls Clubs collateral used to further the fundraising efforts of the organization.
  • Conceptualized and produced two 10-minute campaign videos and a public service announcement used to secure over $100,000 in foundation pledges. In addition, produced three commercials for “Wild Things” community art fundraising campaign that helped raise $400,000 for the organization.

From wiritng articles utiilzing direct quotes to giving full attention to what other people are saying and taking time to understand the points being made to most effectively, I utlize listening techniques to develop constuructive and cooperative working relationships.
Reading Comprehension
Successfully writing requests for qualifications and requests for proposals, reasearching the most effective solutions to meet the needs of the problems addressed in RFPS as well as earning my teaching certification which required me to take classes to learn how to teach reading comprehension has furthered this vital skill in recent years.

Faced with many difficult situations in my work experience, including crisis managment, deadlines and fundraising during a recession, I have learned to always be two steps ahead and can identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions and make a decision based on the best approach to a problem.

Facing daily deadlines writing press releases, news stories, and writing grants, I am quite proficient at managing my own time and the time of others.
From writing articles for a small newpaper, to daily news stories in television, as well as news releases, grants and collateral materials, I can ensure correct grammer, punctuation, spelling, and communicate most effectively in writiing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
