For most of my working life I have been a customer service focused professional.
Whether in sales or as an executive with high customer expectations of our company, I have always had an outward focus.

This is ingrained in every approach I take with members, and it produces tangible results no matter the venue.  
When customers are heard, and they understand that you will do everything within your power to meet their needs, they will shout your name from the rooftops for you!  

Even with the price leveling power of the internet, people will pay more if they can count on good service, and that is the only thing that any company has going for them these days!  As a professional I understand that service trumps all other areas, because it truly is the only thing bringing customers in the door.

Developed following with members, wine collectors, enthusiasts and important opinion leaders (Wedding Planners, Event Coordinators) which contributed to greater bulk sales of wine and liquor for the department/warehouse.
Assisted in improving our ranking in fine wines Costco-wide while improving year over year sales 9%.
Assisted with Inventory, Signage Auditing, and Department Merchandising to contribute to the above result.

Rips Wines & Spirits

Trained, Managed and Supervised staff of 30 for this destination beer, wine and liquor store in Bowie, MD.
Primarily focused on purchasing/product mix for the Mainstream Beer, Craft and Belgian Beer, Malt Beverage, Mead and Cider categories within the store.
Grew gross sales as well as gross margin and net profit significantly quarter over prior year quarter... (nearly 7%) for this unique and multi-million dollar store.
Helped launch Growler Filler program featuring unique, esoteric, and mostly rare beers. Developed relationships with Craft Brewery representatives necessary to acquire rare one off and allocated kegs for our program.
Initiative contributed positively to ROI within the first five months of operation.

Increased under-producing territory sales from 2 deliveries a month to every week. Total new business sales increased territory over 25%.

Managed and curated over $2m fine wine and craft beer department with P & L responsibility for this upscale McLean, VA location. Increased sales year over year by over 6% while contributing significantly to overall increases in departmental gross margin and net profit during same period. Managed, trained and coached an assistant to increase sales and provide better customer service. Rebuilt the Temperature Controlled fine wine cellar to once again contribute to sales and profits.

Established regular weekend wine tastings as well as craft beer tastings to encourage a following.

Daily responsibilities included:

Execution of ongoing marketing programs. Vendor management and quantity discount buying for increased profit. Inventory management, and various MBO objectives including: total vendor out-of-stocks, shrink, as well as overall running book inventory.

Other duties included maintaining standards set by several internal audit checklists for:

shrink, departmental best practices, as well as other internal corporate initiatives.  Was responsible for daily price changes and adjunct File Maintenance duties, Maintained customer mailing list for weekly email blasts about specials, sales, upcoming tastings and events.

Assisted two head waiters with table-side duties at this fine French restaurant. Suggested wines for possible consideration during the pre-order period before the head waiter would take the final order by memory.

Was my job to help my head waiters remember the order and to collect the wines we suggested for them to serve table-side from our cellarmaster. Antoine's was known for having over 25,000 bottles in its cellar.
