"In my opinion, Professor Short is a wonderful teacher. She is one of the best instructors I've ever met in my career as a college student. In addition, as a teacher, she possess great work ethics, is very patient, provides the right amount of resources to help her students, and is always very professional when it comes to communicating. All in all, I'm glad I've received the opportunity to share her as an instructor with my fellow classmates ... and on my special list, she is voted "America's Best Teacher Award for a major college/university".
"Professor Short has been an amazing teacher - very easy to talk to, will answer any questions you have without making it difficult, has a fun way of teaching, breaks things down for you in a sufficient and understandable way in which you can comprehend and, still keeps it professional."
"Professor Short, I would like to thank you for being patient with me in class! Your class and your patience has helped me in my present career! If it weren't for your patience or your class, I probably would've failed, which would've led to less opportunity in obtaining my career goal! Again thank you. Your grateful student."
"Thanks Professor Short for all your support and knowledge throughout the course and I appreciate the individual time you put in with us all. This is a class that I will be recommending to everyone that I come in contact with. Thanks again and good luck in all your endeavors and keep doing what you're doing....it's great!"
It is important that minorities and children in disadvantaged communities become technology literate in order to function and compete in a global society. Therefore, I create opportunities to share my knowledge and experiences in software engineering, development, and project management with these children as the next generation of university students. When they see the effect technology can have on society and themselves, it opens a world of possibilities for them.

“I worked with Rose Short while she was at IBM. Rose is passionate about community outreach for girls and minorities. I volunteered at several events that Rose coordinated to encourage girls and minorities in K-12 in the fields of science, engineering, and technology. This was an area that Rose was passionate about and it was a joy to work with her on these events. Her enthusiasm was contagious and she worked hard to recruit others that were caring and focused on making science, engineering, and technology exciting for these young children."
"The events were extremely well attended and coordinated due to Rose's efforts. I would gladly work with Rose again on these types of events. My part of her events included bringing search and rescue robots to the events and training children on how to use the robots and conduct a search task. Rose actively interacted with the children by teaching them programming skills and building small robots. She was quite an asset while working in this capacity. I cannot imagine a better person to encourage children into the wonderful world of science, engineering, and technology as a future career choice.”
