Android Developer (Freelance)

Jul 2015 - Jan 2016

Spotted provides communities the ability to report/follow incidents and receive live notifications based on their current location. As the sole Android developer I was responsible for the 'full stack' including well known java/android testing methods. Please visit my Github page to see a code demonstration of this application.

  • Dependency Injection framework
  • Repository Pattern
  • RESTful web services
  • Observer Pattern
  • Model-View-Presenter
  • Geofencing Push Notifications

Android Developer (Intern)

Dec 2014 - Jun 2015

I joined as a founding Android developer. The application was built entirely by (unpaid) interns. Soon after commencing I was appointed team lead so in addition to my own code, I was responsible for the application architecture and managing the progress and quality of the other team members' work. Overall it was a great learning experience.

"Rory committed to the project and he saw it through, even when the project specs grew and required several months longer than anticipated to complete. He worked well beyond normal hours, remained calm and in control, and formed an integral part of our team" - Jerome Rault (Romey Founder & CEO)
