Throughout his years serving the Australian and Arab communities, Roland Jabbour has embodied his belief in political and cultural participation. Mr. Jabbour has held leadership positions in numerous organizations within and outside of government, promoting business and trade relations that create positive ties between Australia and the Arab community worldwide. Roland Jabbour holds business interests in a variety of industries, including property development and investments, international education and training, and travel and tourism. He currently serves as Chairman of the Jabbour Holding Group of Companies, which through its offices in Melbourne and the Middle East, represents universities, government institutions, and private sector companies in numerous projects between Australia and the Middle East. Mr. Jabbour also serves as Managing Director of the Cedar Jet Travel Group and Chairman of the Australian Agency for Education and Training. In addition, Mr. Jabbour shares his international business expertise through several leadership positions in cross-cultural business organizations, including the Australian Arab and the Australia Lebanon Chambers of Commerce and Industry as well as the Australia Oman Business Council. A firm believer in actively participating in society, Mr. Jabbour has held numerous community and government appointments. The founding and current Chairman of the Australian Arabic Council, he also served as founding Chairman of the Darebin Ethnic Communities Council and Vice Chairman of the Council for Australian Arab Relations. Mr. Jabbour was appointed as a board member for several university groups promoting positive cultural relations, and has earned appointment as a Justice of the Peace for the State of Victoria. Roland Jabbour received numerous recognitions for his work in the field of cultural relations, both in his home state of Victoria and on the national level. He was named a finalist for the Australian Ethnic Business Awards and received nomination for the Australian of the Year award. In addition, he earned the Australian Medal for the Centenary of Federation of Australia. In his free time, he pursues such interests as sports cars and aviation, and enjoys spending time with his family.
