  • Drove the development of the first mobile app targeting iOS and Android, allowing customers to check the status of their loans and layaway, as well as receive alerts and promotional messages.
  • Identified new technology to allow a pawnbroker to interact with a customer in any store nationwide.
    • Utilized cellular, gyroscope, GPS, and tablet technologies to enable a “virtual agent” to maneuver through the store and offer assistance.
  • Instrumental in building a digital online catalog, showcasing items for sale nationwide.
  • Completed a 45-day field project to research technological advancements in the retail industry for use in pilot stores.
    • Analyzed stores who have adopted new and emerging technologies to enhance the customer experience and streamline employee productivity. 
    • i.e. how AT&T is using iPads for their customer experience and POS, Rooms-to-Go uses tablets to streamline the purchasing process, etc.

Led internal and external website development to support 48+ production websites. Supervised vendor and offshore resources, while working collaboratively with other company departments. Managed a $1MM budget. 

  • Managed an 18-month project to rebuild the intranet, supporting 6,000+ employees internationally.
  • Saved the company $350k by identifying network and user issues after field research.
  • Helped facilitate 10%+ annual growth rate in sales and loan revenue through optimization of websites vs. the retail industry average of less than 15%.
  • Helped build a mobile app to identify products for sale in nearby stores based on a picture of the barcode.
  • Led the team and subject matter experts in building a new website to serve stores in Mexico.
  • Actively managed the redesign and development efforts for the Learning and Development application, earning multiple awards nationally.
  • Grew team from one developer to seven in a 6-year period.

Director of Data Architecture and Software Engineering


Oversaw software application improvements and enhancements, allowing call centers to accept payment over the phone or through websites. Led R&D into newer and better technologies in support of the platform. Administered a budget of $1.2MM+.

  • Pioneered Electronic Funds Transfer (“EFT”) software and managed the team that supported enhancements and maintenance for an internationally recognized desktop automation software package.
  • Designed and built an easy-to-use GUI, incorporating interfaces for ~8 host emulators with expansion modules for additional interfaces.
  • Designed and wrote Software Developer Toolkits (SDK’s) and Application Programmer Interfaces (API’s).
  • Co-owned patents: “Device and Method to Conceal Customer Information” and “Method to electronically collect and route consumer financial payments” with the company.
  • Technical papers published in Software Developer Journal.
  • Gave keynote speech at multiple Global Western Union conferences and events.
