Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR)

Jun 2015Sept 2021

Society for Human Resource Management - Senior Certified Professional    (SHRM-SCP)

"Rob is the consummate HR professional. I hired him and, after only one year, promoted him to Director of HR at Cohen-Esrey. Very quickly after he joined the company, he turned around a department that was in complete disarray and gained the respect of the leadership, as well as team members. His knowledge of HR is extensive, and he created new policies and processes that were greatly needed. He also did everything he could to integrate the company's new core values throughout the organization. One thing to know about this position is that not only did Rob have HR responsibilities in Kansas City, MO, but he also recruited and supported team members through his HR department in several other states, including Kansas, Iowa, Texas and many others, requiring him to be knowledgeable of their laws and regulations too. His responsibilities continued to expand as the company moved into new states each year. I enjoyed working with Rob and respected him for his great ideas and his ability to handle some of the thorniest issues in the HR arena. As COO, I appreciated his support and trusted him to always do his best for the company and its team members".  ~ Susan Beck, Cultural Transformation Consultant (former COO, Cohen-Esrey, LLC)

"I have worked with Rob for a couple of years recruiting and hiring for specialized positions outside of his daily sphere of familiarity. Rob has been wonderful at getting a clear understanding of what I was looking for and the person that would be the best fit for the position. He worked diligently to research the specifics of the position and the expected outcome for a successful candidate. Rob went above and beyond my requested expectation. He offered vital recruitment suggestions and deployed his team to assist our small operation to find the right person.
After finding the right person, Rob was able to follow-up to make sure that he and his team met our needs and expectations. He offered coaching tools and resources available to sustain the success of the candidate and cultivate employee development. Rob offered stellar customer service and guidance in our pre- and post employee search. He is a pleasure to work with and left us with a positive experience.?"
~ Angela Morehead, Executive Director, Preserving US, LLC

"Professional to a fault is the phrase that comes to mind when I think about Rob. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Rob at Cohen-Esrey, during which we collaborated on many projects including coming up with creative ways to recruit for open positions and overcoming negative online reviews. Above all, I was impressed with Rob’s ability to command (a tough) room and retain his composure when things got heated. He had a special way of ensuring everyone had access to the right tools and training yet never made anyone feel like a burden if they had a question. Rob knows exactly how to make every individual feel like a valuable part of the team and is always willing to help with any project. Rob would be a true asset for any company needing someone to head up their HR department." ~ Jillian Carter, Marketing Director, Cohen-Esrey, LLC

"Rob changed the way I viewed an HR department. For once in my career it felt like HR was an asset rather than just a necessity. He has a real gift in being calm and helpful during challenging times and I always appreciated the way he delivered it in layman's terms. Rather than directing everyone with only policy and handbook speak, his approach was geared more towards informing you of legal and ethical recommendations and then supporting you and your decision. Most importantly, while Rob headed up the HR department, it was the first time the construction department had a partner in recruiting. He implemented several programs and resources for finding more qualified folks and assisted with training, both in which really helped in retention. And best of all, Rob is a very good person and a pleasure to be around. People around him just seemed to get better. I highly recommend Rob for his professionalism, knowledge, energy, strategic thinking, flexibility, kindness and commitment. An upgrade to any HR team!  ~ Tom Cowan, Vice President Nexus5 Group

“Rob is one of those great HR Managers that you hear about and always wished you had. Beyond being discreet, insightful, and a fantastic communicator, Rob is well versed in HR policy and current events. Rob knew the answer to my question 98% of the time, and when he didn't he was quick to get back to me with a well-researched response." ~ Veronica Kennedy, Proposal Manager, The CENTECH GROUP, Inc.

“Rob has proved to be a valuable asset with all matters related to Human Resource Management. He is an easy person to talk to, work with, and has always provided very insightful ways to resolve issues.”  ~ Kelly Davidson, Vice President, Contracts, THE CENTECH GROUP, Inc.

“Rob is an amazing HR professional. He jumped right into his position at Raffa and made it 100 % better. He is a wonderful person to have on your team!”  ~ Rachel Alansky, HR Director, RAFFA, P.C.
