About Robert T Fremeau Jr PHD

Throughout his career in drug discovery, Robert T. Fremeau, Jr., PhD, has demonstrated highly developed team building skills as well as the ability to reduce discovery to practice. He began his career following receipt of a doctorate from George Washington University's School of Medicine and went on to complete his postdoctoral research at Columbia University, where he focused on expression of the polypeptide proopiomelanocortin within the mammalian central nervous system. In 1992, Robert T. Fremeau, Jr, PhD, joined the faculty of Duke University Medical Center as assistant professor of pharmacology, in which role he served as principal investigator on neurology studies funded by such organizations as the National Science Foundation and Pfizer, Inc.

An acknowledged scientific expert in transporter biology and G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), Dr. Robert T. Fremeau has since gone on to lead Alzheimer's research for Amgen, Inc. The lead of several successful cross-site and cross-functional teams, he skillfully evaluated licensing opportunities and spearheaded laboratory collaborations. Dr. Fremeau now serves as managing director of NeuroRx Consulting, where he draws on his extensive neurological research expertise to provide discovery and strategic development advice to neuroscience research organizations and investigators.
