About Robert Sullivan Band Director

As band director at Grand Prairie High School in Texas, Robert Sullivan strives to inspire his students and show them that dedication and practice lead to success. Since accepting the position in 2014, he has already led school ensembles to a best in class award and first place ranking at the USBands regional competition. Robert Sullivan comes to this position following five years at Crockett High School in Austin, TX, where he routinely secured first division awards in the University Interscholastic League's contest and marching contests.

Robert Sullivan draws on a total of 15 years in band directorship, having begun his career at Coppell Middle School East. He has since taught at middle and high schools in greater Austin, TX, and beyond, all of which have earned first division awards under his direction.

He has also led bands to state championship titles as well as top-10 placement in the Bands of America Super-Regional Competition. His Medlin Middle School band earned the prestigious State Honor Band award from the Texas Music Educators Association, which has honored Mr. Sullivan as recipient of its Honor Director Award and Leadership and Achievement Award. He further stands out as an honoree of the National Band Association's Citation of Excellence, which he accepted in 2000.
