Through my experience as a teacher, I realized that there is no formula to teaching. In fact, teaching requires continuous research and planning. It is a cyclical process in which the instructor has to keep thinking and rethinking the best practices and strategies to achieve desired goals and objectives for his/her course. I believe that learners have autonomy of their knowledge; however, they need guidance. This is the reason I think Instructional Design and Development is such an important field. It is a blueprint for education, especially for an online environment. The instruction is planned in order to assist and support learners. Since Instructional Design Systems provide the appropriate way to incorporate technology and education, this field is an opening to a new age of e-learning. Combining a technologically innovative field such as Instructional Design with a foundational field such as Education, I am able to provide a solid foundation of learning through practices for our future, bridging the gaps for a brighter tomorrow.
