Technology Strategist

As part of the larger Architecture & Strategy team, I am responsible for the development of both overall and targeted technology strategies for the treasury and payments organization.  This role includes the management of divisional architectural governance, overseeing various workgroups, mentoring other associates and leading/facilitating the design of large scale efforts such as the commercial portal, SOA transformation, mobile banking and the target integration platform.  In addition to divisional responsibilities, I actively participate in enterprise governance and act as the lead for SOA education within Bank of America.

Software Engineer

First Union National Bank

At First Union, I acted as design and development lead for various Java-based development efforts within commercial credit and corporate real estate.  This role also included the development of a more rigorous development practice, mentoring with associates, providing active development support for ongoing efforts as well as leading development on one of the first distributed Java applications within First Union.




As a junior associate, I was responsible for the design and development of Smalltalk/Java interoperability solutions for consumer banking solutions as well as oversight of departmental software and hardware resources.

As a student administrator, I was responsible for the development and maintenance of various web applications and custom applications for use by staff within UNC Charlotte's math department.  My responsibilities also included the administration of departmental hardware and software resources.

As a student in Computer Science, I focused in artificial intelligence and artificial life, particularly focusing on Kohonen Self-Organizing Maps and Evolutionary Algorithms.  In addition to a BS within Computer Science, I also obtained a minor in Mathematics based on my work with number theory.


Familiarity with the Smalltalk programming language and its best use in software development.
Familiarity with the .Net development environment and its best use in software development.  Working knowledge of VB.Net and C#.
Familiarity with the Java programming language and its best use in software development.  This includes a basic knowledge of J2EE and its use within enterprise software.   As part of the Java Community Process, I was part of the workgroup responsible for developing the metadata framework introduced as part of Java 1.5.
