Personal Mission

I am a sinner saved solely by the grace of God through His Son, Jesus Christ. Because of Jesus' great love and sacrifice for me, I am compelled to give my life in love and service to Him and His people. God has called me to lead His people in the local congregation as they advance the Kingdom of God, to care for His people through counseling, prayer, and guidance, and to proclaim the truth of God's Word to His people and to a lost world. All of these tasks must be done through humility and service. I am simply a sinner who God has chosen to use to advance His Kingdom on earth.

Personal Information

  • Raised in Lake City, AR
  • Married to Kodi Platz since May 2016
  • Current church membership is at Family Fellowship Baptist Church
  • Saved and baptized at the age of 15
  • Called to the ministry at the age of 17
  • Multiple short-term mission trip experiences within the U.S., as well as a mission trip to Lima, Peru in 2016
  • The spiritual gifts most manifested in my life are teaching, knowledge, and prophesy according to Jesus on Leadership by Gene Wilkes

I grew up in a legalistic church, where I was indirectly taught that God’s love for me depended upon how I dressed, what type of friends I chose, what type of music I listened to, etc. This constant burden repelled me away from church and the things of God. However, at the age of 15 I had the Gospel presented to me in a clear way at a youth rally, and I accepted Christ because I was tired of running from His will. I did not fully understand the Gospel of Grace at this point, but over the next few years mentors poured into my life and I began to gain understanding. When I was 17, a godly man in my life urged me to go on a mission trip to Wichita, KS. While on this trip, I felt called into the ministry. Since that point, God has been teaching me a huge amount of things about His Word, His love, and how to love others. I could not be more excited to be a part of His ministry, and I am anxiously looking forward to whatever the next step is in my life.
