Philiosophy of Nursing

My nursing philosophy is one of delivering compassionate and culturally sensitive care to patients, families, and community.  I believe that nursing is a profession which uses evidence based practices yet displays a comprehensive understanding of human beings.  Nursing is an occupation consisting of professional individuals that exhibit and express compassion, respect, dignity, and integrity to their patients and fellow coworkers.  It involves compassion, understanding, and tenacity in order to provide beyond performing a learned skill. Nurses should deliver quality care at all times with utmost respect and patience for all individuals of all walks of life. My personal philosophy is to first and foremost be a patient advocate, through clear communication, education, and applying critical thinking, and decision making skills to help better the patients' outcome.  As a nurse I am committed to keep current in knowledge and skills and seek self-enhancement through perpetual learning. By doing this, I can evolve professionally through evidence-based practice and technological advances.
