About Rick Conner

An experienced city official, Rick Conner most recently served as the interim city manager of Fruitland Park, Florida. Responsible for all of the city’s operations, he managed an annual capital budget of around $500,000 and an operating budget of approximately $6 million. Prior to this position, he spent a year working as the interim director of transportation and capital infrastructure in Loudoun County, Virginia. During this time, Rick Conner merged two departments into one, was responsible for around 50 employees, and handled all capital construction within the county.

From 2007 to 2011, Mr. Conner worked for the City of Sunny Isles Beach in Florida as the city manager and public works director, acquiring experience handling large budgets and leading large teams. During the three years before this, he was a city engineer in El Paso, Texas, and supervised six divisions, including the Environmental Division and the Land Development Division.

Between 1995 and 2004, Rick Conner served as a director of public works. For the later two years, he held the position in Nashville, Tennessee, while the previous seven years were spent in Bryan, Texas. He first entered into the field of public leadership in 1989 as the city manager of Marble Falls, Texas. Holding this position for two years, he soon accepted the same role in Portland, Texas, before continuing his successful career.
