Possessing over three decades of legal experience, Richard T. Jellinger is licensed to practice as a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association. A graduate of The University of Iowa, Jellinger received his Juris Doctor in 1976. Prior to law school, he completed a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Iowa State University, and was an enlisted member of the United States Army. Achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-6), Richard T. Jellinger served in Vietnam and Germany as a Squad Leader. Prior to leaving the Army on an honorable discharge, Jellinger earned the distinction of the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm. Taking on the responsibility of artillery control and surveying, he was awarded with the Gallantry Cross for having accomplished deeds of valor or displayed heroic conduct while fighting the enemy. Throughout a successful legal career, Richard T. Jellinger has served a variety of important roles, beginning as an Associate for Petersen, Petersen & Eddy. While with the firm, he chaired the local county bar association’s Continuing Legal Education program and he focused on estate, real estate, and business law. Moreover, he gained valuable experience early in his career as a mental health referee for the court system. He has also worked closely with legal counsel at Hyatt Legal Services and served as Corporate Counsel for Minnesota Protective Life Insurance Company. Constantly evolving throughout his career, Richard T. Jellinger has worked in family, criminal, and litigation law. Moreover, he holds experience in representing railroad workers who are owed compensation through the Federal Employers Liability Act.
