About Richard Firshein

As the founder and medical director of the Firshein Center for Integrative Medicine in New York City, Dr. Richard Firshein blends the best treatments of Eastern and Western practice. Dr. Richard Firshein offers comprehensive treatment programs for allergies and asthma, pain management, and aging. A certified acupuncturist who is board-certified in family medicine, he also heads Nutraceutical Research, Inc.

He has spread the word about integrative medicine in numerous publications and electronic media. Dr. Firshein has published four books: The Vitamin Prescription (for Life), Reversing Asthma, The Nutraceutical Revolution, and Your Asthma-Free Child. He has also contributed to professional journals such as Natural Pharmacy and In Practice - New Perspective in Wellbeing. Earlier in his career, he produced Dr. Firshein’s Healthy Living Report. Additionally, he has been a guest on several television news outlets, including Fox News, CNN, Good Day New York, and the CBS Morning News. He hosted two radio programs and has written articles for more than 20 magazines.

Dr. Firshein's postsecondary education began at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he earned a doctor of osteopathic medicine. He then completed an internship at the Coney Island Hospital, followed by a residency at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. Later, he trained in acupuncture at the University of California, Los Angeles.
