About Richard Felner

For nearly 25 years, Richard Felner has advised clients in the real estate, retail, and financial industries as principal of the real estate consultancy Richard M. Felner Associates. Prior to establishing the firm, he served for several years with the US subsidiary of the major Canadian women’s fashion retailer Reitmans Ltd., as executive vice president of real estate and director. Mr. Felner has also handled corporate financing in the retail and real estate sectors for the former investment banking firm Drexel Burnham Lambert and served on the Real Estate Committee of the National Retail Federation.

Before beginning his career, Richard Felner completed a bachelor’s degree in government at Cornell University and a law degree at the Columbia University School of Law. Extensively experienced in bankruptcy law, he sits on the Bankruptcy Task Force of the International Council of Shopping Centers and has represented numerous retail companies in Chapter 11 reorganizations. He also maintains membership in the Council of Developers of Outlet Centers & Retailers.

Physically active, Richard Felner pursues such hobbies in his free time as horseback riding, skiing, playing tennis, and bowling. A member of the US Golf Association, he has played at such courses as Pebble Beach and Bandon Dunes, as well as officiated the US Open and PGA Championship. As a track runner, Mr. Felner has won medals in short- and middle-distance events and competed in the Penn Relays.
